EWHT Urges Donations to Breast Cancer Research

NEW YORK-Executives Working in Home Textiles (EWHT) is calling for donations to breast cancer research in recognition of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The organization has donated $1,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), and is urging others in the industry to contribute as well. "Currently, 91 cents of every dollar spent by the BCRF is directed towards breast cancer research and awareness programs," EWHT said in a statement.

Linda Kulla, vice president of Bardwil Linens' bath division and steering member of EWHT, invoked the memory of Elizabeth Miller, the long-time executive with Karastan who died in 2010 after a five-year-long battle with breast cancer. Miller was particularly active in efforts to raise funds for cancer research. "As members of the industry in which she was well loved and respected, we will continue Elizabeth's fight," Kulla said.

Those wishing to contribute can visit BCRF's donations website, donations.bcrfcure.org.
