Falkenberg Upped to GLM Senior VP

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.-Christian Falkenberg, GLM vice president and director of the New York International Gift Fair, has been promoted to senior vice president of the trade-show company.

In his new role, Falkenberg continues his oversight of the Gift Fair, which is being renamed NY Now as part of the rebranding of the show. His responsibilities include strategic development, brand positioning, sales, audience marketing, public relations and operations for the show, along with day-to-day management of its sales and marketing team. He reports to Charles McCurdy, CEO of GLM.

Falkenberg has been with GLM since 1992, and has held sales and management posts with the International Hotel, Motel & Restaurant Show, the Las Vegas International Hotel & Restaurant Show, AH&MA Lodging Expo and the Air & Waste Management Association Conference and Expo. He was named vice president of GLM in 2003 and became the Gift Fair's show manager in 2008. Last March, he succeeded Dorothy Belshaw as show director after Belshaw left GLM to become president of the gift division of International Market Centers.
