Heimtextil 2013 to Increase Focus on Design

FRANKFURT, Germany-Messe Frankfurt will intensify the focus on design at the next Heimtextil, to take place from Jan. 9-12, 2013.

The trade fair will offer Design live, a new section located in hall 4.2 of Messe Frankfurt. Design live will feature an estimated 150 international exhibitors presenting creative designs for home and household textiles. Among these will be studios exhibiting at Heimtextil for the first time, according to a Messe Frankfurt.

Close to Design live, Heimtextil will also provide a stage for the next generation of designers, allowing them to showcase their creative textile projects. In addition, the trade fair will launch the Young Creations Award: Upcycling, which will spotlight the work of students of Aachen University of Applied Sciences and Coburg University, who will create pieces for interiors made of recycled materials, thus promoting the principle of sustainability.

Also, Heimtextil will open Design live from to 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Jan. 8, the day before the trade fair officially opens, to give exhibitors and press representatives the opportunity to get information and make contact with the design studios in the new section.
