HFPA Moves Market Dates for September 2011

NEW YORK-The Home Fashion Products Association has opted to change the dates for the New York Home Fashions Market in September of next year so that it does not conflict with the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy.

The market will take place from Sept. 19-23, 2011. According to a statement from the HFPA board of directors, there was a concern that out-of-town suppliers and retailers might not want to travel to New York for the market during the originally scheduled time frame, Sept. 12-16.

HFPA said it's possible that President Barack Obama may travel to New York for the occasion, creating the need for extra security at airports and the possibility of difficult traffic around the city.
