Kay Degenhardt, PR Representative for GLM and Surtex, Dies

EASTHAMPTON, Mass.-Kay Degenhardt, who represented GLM and Surtex from 2009-2011 as public-relations professional, has died. She was 74.
Degenhardt's career in home furnishings spanned 35 years. She co-founded rdesigns, a textiles design firm, in New York City with her friend, Nancy Rollins, in 1978. Ten years later, she founded Kay
Degenhardt was also a long-time member of the New York chapter of the International Furnishings and Design Association. She also served on the awards committed of the Cooper-Hewitt Museum in New York City.
Survivors include her daughter, Jane Degenhardt, and her husband, James Serhant II; a son, Peter Degenhardt and his wife, Leslie; four grandchildren; and three brothers.
The family has asked that donations in her memory be made to the Bay State Hospice in Springfield, Mass.
