Licensing Expo Releases Conference Schedule

NEW YORK-The upcoming Licensing International Expo will include a slate of seminars on business issues related to licensing.

"Using Licensing with Cause Marketing," a session on linking a license to a cause-marketing effort, will take place from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on June 7.

On June 8, "Getting Your Brand Ready for Licensing" will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m., and will feature a panel of corporate brand owners who will discuss how to evaluate whether a brand is ready for licensing. Also on June 8, a panel will talk about royalties and other compensation issues in celebrity, art, entertainment, corporate and sports licensing in "Royalty Rate Trends," which is scheduled for 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

The June 9 sessions will include "Using Demographic Trends to Grow Your Licensing Business: Baby Boomers, Hispanics and Women," which will examine the influence of demographic trends on licensing and which will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. "Putting It Together: A Strategic Checklist for Licensees" will focus on case studies of licensed toy product introductions and the factors to consider before executing a licensing deal, and will take place from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. "Viral Marketing and New Media: Understanding New Communications Technologies," which will deal with the changing media landscape and its effects on licensing, is scheduled for 3:15 to 4:45 p.m.

The expo will take place from June 8 to June 10 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
