NEW YORK-Martha Stewart and Bravo star Andy Cohen hosted an awards ceremony last night for the second-annual American Made event, which opened yesterday at Grand Central Terminal. The two-day event offers consumers the chance to buy U.S.-made goods, from cutting boards to macaroons, from more than 80 companies, as well as attend seminars. The awards ceremony honored ten small businesses, including textiles designer Maura Grace Ambrose's Folk Fibers and Lindsey Adelman Studio, a lighting company.
The awards ceremony included guest presenters, including chef Bobby Flay, model Christie Brinkley and ice hockey player Sean Avery, as well as celebrity attendees such as designer Thom Filicia and TV personality Bethany Frankel. Among the food and drink available for guests included appetizers served on state-shaped bamboo cutting boards from A. Heirloom, one of the vendors at the two-day event.
Folk Fibers was one of the honored makers last night.
"The great thing about American Made and the maker's spirit is that it's all about personal passion," said Stewart. This program is able to help small, artisan businesses, noting that last year's honoree FeLion Studios, which makes state-shaped skillets, saw sales jump 2,000 percent for last year's holiday season due to the publicity received from the award. "These businesses are a shining example of what we at Martha Stewart Omnimedia have been championing for 25 years."
Stewart also announced a new partnership with ebay that has resulted in an American Made shop at ebay.com/AmericanMade, where currently more than 600 items are for sale. "This is a very exciting partnership," said Stewart. Richelle Parham, vice president and chief marketing officer, eBay, added, "This is all about connecting people to the things they love."

These entrepreneurs are "changing the landscape of the communities they serve," Cohen said during the ceremony.
