Messe Frankfurt to Offer Free WiFi at All Shows in Frankfurt

FRANKFURT, Germany-Starting in January, Messe Frankfurt will provide free wireless internet (WiFi) access on the entire exhibition grounds of its own trade shows.

The service makes it possible for attendees to surf the Internet, send email or establish secure wireless connections to their companies' networks, through either laptops or smart phones. It enables international attendees to avoid roaming charges from their mobile phone-service providers, Messe Frankfurt said in a statement. Free WiFi will also make it easier to use the complementary services through downloading digital applications on their phones, such as the complete exhibitor catalog, hall plans and information about the current fair.

The first event to feature free WiFi will be Heimtextil, which is scheduled for Jan. 11-14.
