Metcalf Named to Head Merchandising at Burlington Coat Factory

BURLINGTON, N.J.-Burlington Coat Factory has appointed Paul Metcalf to the newly created post of executive vice president and chief merchandising officer.

Metcalf has thus assumed responsibility for all of the retailer's merchandising, with the general merchandise managers reporting to him. He reports directly to Thomas Kingsbury, president and CEO. Prior to Metcalf's appointment, the general merchandise managers had reported directly to Kingsbury.

Metcalf joined Burlington Coat Factory from the TJX Cos., where he had served in key merchandising roles for apparel. Before coming to TJX, he worked in several merchandising roles with May Department Stores Co.
