NY Now Gets Underway

NY NowNEW YORK-NY Now, which promises 100,000 products in more than 400 product categories, begins here today and will run through Wednesday, Aug. 20.

The show takes place at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 94.

Highlights of this summer edition include the debut of the Maker Project, featuring exhibits and events that tap into the DIY culture and focus on how that melds with new technologies. The Maker Project will also introduce an Etsy Wholesale Pavilion. Two blogger-focused initiatives are also new, the result of a partnership between the show and HGTV Magazine. HGTV Magazine's Blogger Block Party gives bloggers the opportunity to meet and share their experiences in person on Aug. 18. In the meantime, NY Now is hosting its first-ever Best Blog competition, where home, lifestyle and design bloggers can publish their experiences from the show; the blogger who receives the most Facebook likes and Twitter re-tweets will win a tour of the HGTV Magazine offices and a personal meeting with HGTV Magazine Editor-in-Chief Sara Peterson.
