NYIGF Handmade Divisions to Showcase New Artisans

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.-The Handmade Designer Maker and Handmade Global Design divisions of the New York International Gift Fair will feature 475 exhibitors of artisanal and handcrafted products during the winter show next month.

Handmade Designer Maker, which will be located in the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center's North section, will spotlight 340 limited-production  product vendors across all categories from throughout the world. A majority of the exhibitors will be from the United States, and the Gift Fair has partnered with Craft Retailers' Association for Tomorrow to jointly develop criteria for identification of U.S.-made crafts. Part of this effort will be a seminar series on timely business topics for crafts vendors.

Handmade Global Design will be located in the Javits Center's Level 4 Galleria, and will feature 135 exhibitors. Nearby will be a "Fair Trade Neighborhood," with 14 exhibitor-members of the Fair Trade Federation.

The second semi-annual edition of Artisan Resource will also take place during the winter NYIGF, located at the Passenger Ship Terminal's Pier 92. This is a concurrent trade show offering wares from international artisanal producers.

The Gift Fair is scheduled for Jan. 26-30 at the Javits Center and Piers 92 and 94 at the Passenger Ship Terminal. Artisan Resource will take place from Jan. 27-29.
