CARLSTADT, N.J.-Pantone has unveiled Pantone Plus, a new color tool that the company described as the "next generation" of its Pantone Matching System.

The new color series provides new features and capabilities such as chromatic arrangement of colors for more intuitive selection by designers and printers, according to a Pantone statement. It also offers an expanded palette of spot colors and adds new premium metallics and a broader range of neons. Free with each purchase of Pantone Plus is Pantone Color Manager software, which allows designers to update their design applications with the new Plus Series color libraries.

In another aspect of the new series, creative professionals can access the entire Pantone Plus Series from their iPhones with the myPantone iPhone application. Also, with the myPantone X-Ref iPhone application,  designers can cross-reference all Pantone color libraries.

The Pantone Plus Series is available immediately, and can be purchased from the company's Web site, pantone.com, or from Pantone resellers.
