PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y.-Safavieh will debut its first collection of decorative pillows at the upcoming High Point Market.

The company's first lineup of decorative pillows encompasses 50 SKUs, with designs and fills segmented by retail channel of distribution, according to a Safavieh statement. Targeted retail channels include furniture stores, upper-end home-furnishings retailers, catalogs and websites.

Tiffany N. Yaraghi, Safavieh's product manager for decorative pillows, said the design inspirations for the line are vivid colors often softened with white, suzani patterns (a highly decorative embroidered textile design from central Asia), modern interpretations of lace and Moroccan motifs. The pillows complement the latest looks in furniture and fabrics but will not be adapted from Safavieh's rug designs, Yaraghi said.

The suggested retail prices for the pillows start at $45 for an 18-inch pillow filled with down and feathers. The fabrics for this first collection include cotton canvas with hand-stitched embroidery, 100 percent cotton, hand-woven cotton novelty fabrics and polyester.
