NEW YORK-A $10,000 gift from WithIt Co-Founder Peggy Traub is making it possible for WithIt to launch the Marvin Traub Scholarship Fund, its first-ever matching campaign for student scholarships. In order to jump start this new fund, Traub, the daughter of Marvin Traub, will match two dollars for each dollar donated, up to the first $5,000. This match effectively triples the value of each dollar donated.

WithIt is a North Carolina-based, not-for-profit network whose purpose is to encourage and develop leadership, mentoring, education and networking opportunities for professional women in the home and furnishings industries.

"With talented students requiring financial assistance in order to complete their degrees, giving scholarships is one of WithIt's highest priorities," said Violette Forman, vice president of the WithIt Scholarship Foundation. "This matching gift opportunity fueled by a generous gift from Peggy will greatly enhance our efforts to encourage others to support our scholars. By investing in our students today, our industries will earn dividends for decades to come."

Many expected 2016 would be a banner year, but the political and economic climate softened consumer confidence. It was also a year consumers spent more lavishly on home remodeling rather than decorating.
